Welcome to Fort Wayne's GREEK FESTIVAL
We would like to extend a warm invitation and have you join us to experience four days of our Greek culture.
The primary goal of the Fort Wayne Greek Festival has always been to share with Fort Wayne and the surrounding communities
the best of our passions: food, music, dance, hospitality and our cherished cultural Hellenic traditions.
Our primary wish is to make the visitors of Fort Wayne's Greek Festival feel and experience these true passions of our heritage,
by tasting our delicious Greek food, all homemade in the flavorful tradition of our Greek cuisine, listen and dance to our
lively Greek music, and socialize with and learn from Greek festival organizers, volunteers, and participants on all different
aspects of the Hellenic culture.
The Fort Wayne Greek Festival began in 1980. Since then, it has grown every year. It has become popular for being a family
oriented community festival. Thanks to the loving efforts of numerous volunteers and the great support of thousands of patrons
and supporters, the Fort Wayne Greek Festival has been repeatedly recognized as the #1 Family Festival in Northeast Indiana
and the Tri-State area.
This year's Fort Wayne Greek Festival will take place from June 23 to June 26, 2011. As we celebrate our 31st anniversary,
we are ready to provide our guests with even more varieties of Greek cuisine dishes, appetizers, refreshments, desserts, and
our famous baklava ice-cream sundaes.
We will offer added entertainment including live music, traditional dancing, and a large video display of sites, people and
activities from Greece as well as past and present highlights from our Greek-American community here in Fort Wayne.
Our Fort Wayne Greek Festival gives us the greatest opportunity to open our arms, our homes, our hearts, and offer to you
our best "philoxenia" (hospitality). Therefore, you too can be "Greek" for a day or two, or three, and this year even for
four days, at the Fort Wayne Greek Festival!
Please remember; being "Greek" means relishing in the world around you and enjoying life to its fullest.
OPA! and
Kalos Oreesate! (Welcome!)
